In the data\cfg\commands_en.cfg file
This section... [Cmd6] Name=Time_compr_normal Ctxt=1,2,6,9 Key0=0x08,,"Backsp" Shouldn't it be... [Cmd6] Name=Time_compr_normal Ctxt=1,2,6,9 Key0=0x0D,,"Enter" Of course I fixed mine, just curious if it shouldn't be this way for the mod as a standard. Do others find the backspace more intuitive for TC normal? ![]() |

aaronblood,
The "backspace" is the default key to stop time compression. The "enter" key fires the torpedoes.

Yeah, I know about the torp launch enter key...
I always change it so Ctrl-Enter is fire torpedo and Enter by itself is TC1. In TMO 1.7, the torps were set to Ctrl-Enter (good) and TC1 is backspace for some curious reason (I guess it's just the default game setting, so OK). It just makes sense for the enter key to be TC1 since it's right there next to the +/- keys for accel/decel time. I like to be able to fiddle with the +/- TC and also can press the TC1 key without having to look down at the keyboard to find the backspace. Just a suggestion, I'm happy to go on fixin it for myself. Guess I've been using it for so long like this I forgot what the game default for TC1 was. |

Wait a minute!
The SH4 keybaord layout says backspace is "Pause" not TC1 (or as you say "stop TC"). So that is sorta screwed up then. ![]() Enter should be TC1 and backspace should be put back to "Pause" (or TC0). Ah well, people are probably use to it now... |

Not an error. In TMO backspace takes the game to 1x, not pause. To pause you hit the minus key after that. And ctrl-enter is already the fire key in TMO.

![]() Quote:
Backspace should be pause (the default setting, no need to mod it for TC1 in TMO) numpad enter should be TC1 (as opposed to numpad enter without assignment in TMO) numpad Ctrl-Enter is logically modded to fire torp in TMO and is a good assignment, leave it that way (I never suggested changing that) I was sorta thinking the majority of folks would want it this way and it would be convenient to have it preset like this. The TMO modders can choose to ignore the suggestion. I have no problem fixing it myself. You guys do realize that the numpad enter key (without ctrl press) presently has no assignment in TMO right? That's a very valuable "blind press key" to leave without an assignment. Last edited by XLjedi; 07-30-09 at 08:30 PM. |
