Default Why is Obama telling the world that Americans are pathetic and fueling hate?

Why? SOmeone tell me this. We had a thread earlier about him telling Muslim extremists that we were in the wrong and that the extremists were right all along. Now we have Obama telling the EU that we are in the wrong on GW. I forgot what he told Russia.

Someone tell me why our leader hates us and loves the rest of the world?

I've been keeping my mouth shut on Obama for some time, only posting the occasional outrageous article and avoiding the discussion, but this is getting out of hand.

Maybe I just need someone to explain it to me.

Link, please. I want to see the POTUS saying "the extremists were right" in exactly those words.

Have at it:

http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=353923

"President Bush would never have criticised our military or our intelligence community on foreign soil," former George Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen said on Fox News. "He basically threw our military under the bus in front of a Muslim audience."

Sorry, I don't agree with your conclusions regarding that video. I won't try to argue who's opinion is correct as that will go nowhere fast, I just don't reach the same opinion of it because I do believe the USA crossed the line and sullied ourselves from a higher moral ground. Maybe those morals are only our own, but of what value are they if even we don't believe in them.

Enough of the morals and values BS. That's the same tired stuff that people have been going on about for years now. The simple fact of the matter is if you're in the wrong, you're in the wrong; and what we did in Iraq was just wrong. We made false/misleading accusations (by that I mean evidence was later revealed to be contrary to our immediate assumptions at the time/no evidence was found to support what we'd claimed) about them to make a declaration of war (about WMDs, Hussein backing terrorist groups directly involved in September 11th, you know the drill), we furthermore violated international law by declaring war, but perhaps the worst thing of all that we did was upset the situation in the Middle East (which spawned negative results for Israel and Saudi Arabia--political mostly, such as increased hostility and/or activity from terrorist groups-- and also escalated the levels of civil unrest within Iraq itself).

Well looking past the fact that this is his speechwriter and not Bush who is making this assertion, I would not be surprised if he didn't criticise what we started over there or admit to a mistake for that matter; the man has an ego the size of the Western Hemisphere. HOWEVER, I would not rule the possibility out; stranger things have been said and happened before.

He did no such thing. He admitted that we made some mistakes. It's as simple as that. We're a nation just like anybody else, and as such we DO make mistakes. We're not perfect, nobody is, and that's that. Get over it. If you think we are, take a step back and try to understand oncemore how reality works.

So, you made this quote up?
Quote:
... him (Obama) telling Muslim extremists that we were in the wrong and that the extremists were right all along.
Because that video you posted does not have anything remotely like this in it. I did hear Obama admit that the people of Iraq are better off without Hussein, and a lot of talking out of both sides of his mouth, but I asked for backup that Obama said extremists were right all along. I don't care what Marc Thiessen said. I don't need a talking head to help me form my opinions.

Got any evidence?

I mean, obviously with such a masterful and deceptive infiltration there won't be any evidence, but just on the off-chance.....

You really should get in touch with the relevant authorities.

I have no problem with that speech. Seems easier to promote our ideals to others when we are mature enough to admit when we trample on them ourselves.

Made me laugh.

And yeah, modesty is something I look up upon when it comes to politics

I know that, you know that, but we are the United States of America. As such we are held to a higher standard than anyone else. We do make mistakes but the global consequences for those mistakes are much higher. Realizing this we have to adhere to those higher standards if we wish to maintain our reputation.
