U 82 Type VIIC

Hi all.

I´d like to share with you mi U 82 model, at long last finished!

Note: please don´t make comparisons with Siara´s work. We all will be happier:rotfl:

I admire the oil canning effect- made without damaging the rivets- thats some skill.

Thank you for your comments, specially yours, Siara!! I´m a fan of your works (well, one should be quite silly not being a fan of your works, you´re a Michelangelo).

In fact, I did damage some rivets making oil canning, but I replaced them with an hypodermic needle applied over a some softened plastic with liquid cement. The result was not bad at all.

I really regret the scarce detail in my conning tower; perhaps I should have purchased the CMK kit for this purpose. Also, I didn´t notice (rather a common error) that the dark grey paint should reach almost the lower free-flood holes, I left it too low.

In any case, I have two more U boats (VIIC and VIIC/41) ready to assembly... and they will be better than this one. Just wait a few... years?, now I´m making a Flower Class Corvette model, just beginning!

For future reference, one of the best riveting tools I've found is the Pounce Wheel.

It was originally invented for marking out patterns for sewing, but it works wonders. The best place to get them is a fabric store, since they come in many different sizes.
