Hi, some time ago I found this really nice piece of eye candy called Twisty Periscope Thingy which was created by Flakmonkey.
Here are original threads on this: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...isty+periscope http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...isty+periscope unfortunately all links to this mod are down, so for my own needs I extracted 3D models for both periscopes with this 'thingy' from Racerboy's flags&pennants mod I imported those periscope 3D models to all 11 types of turm for type VIIb/c boats using Silent 3ditor (GWX 3.0 turm .dat files). It also shouldn't have the problems of original mod because it's very clean (just import new 3D models for periscopes). it looks like this in Naval Academy: ![]() there is some testing needed which I can't do (especially check if it works for boats with radar) I can share this but I don't know if I'm allowed to do this. Of course all the credit would go to Flakmonkey for creating this 3D models for periscopes and skwasjer for S3ditor. So what do you guys say to this? Especially I would like to hear from Flakmonkey himself, unfortunately I can't PM him. EDIT: Ok, I don't see anyone wanting to crucify me for this ![]() The reasons I share this: - original mod by Flakmonkey is no longer available to community - original mod was causing some problems (see original threads) - to make it GWX 3.0 compatible Quote:

He has posted several times that it's OK to use them with Credits.
Just be sure to Credit the others involved with the GWX 3.0 Turms also. The GWX 3.0 Manual has the complete list of Modders. And asking permissions is also the polite thing to do. ![]() |

Yes.
Sooner or later. I tend to jump around alot depending on where I may be able to help others mods work. Plus the GWX 4 work. My way of working is scattered, but I gain alot of knowledge that way. That knowledge is always used to assist when needed. |

They've had them for years.
They are called Fat Bob tanks. There is a small tube that balances the fuel between the 2 tanks. ![]() |

what made me wonder when doing this.. why there are 9 turm .dat files for Type VII ? EDIT: looks like I provided AI commanders with scope vibration damper too ? ![]() ![]() to be honest I just checked it in Naval Academy and single mission with type VII/42 (the one with sinking Italian battleships) and it worked, I also double checked every file so that it looks like it should but I'm not 100% sure that there are no problems with this, also I don't know if it causes problems when radar is used (like the original mod did), so please report any unproper behaviors thanks ![]()
