Default Hydrophone range?

I'm just wondering what the approximate maximum range is for my hydrophone on my VIIB.

Thanks

For GWX it should be 34km radius. Not sure about stock and /or other mods. I heard people say it was 50km radius for convoys. I'll need to check that the next time I find one. I know 34km is true for single units. But you need to listen yourself, with the volume button clicked once. The crew can only hear to 20km or so.

I confirm it's 34.4 km for having tried recently.

isn't this also dependant on the type of hydrophone also?

You can hear further listening yourself in GWX (as Already stated by Pisces).

A real plus for the immersion factor.

It was always a debatable question at about what distance AI can spot a ship. I think average distance would be 25 km, but also it depends from numbers of factors and I guess you will never know the answer to this question to be 100% precise.

Weather conditions, ship traveling speed, sonar man experience, your own depth and engine noise underwater should be the factors of how good AI can hear sound contacts..
