[REL] Historically Accurate U-boat Emblems Mod

Conus' Historically Accurate U-boat Emblems 1.0

Hi fellow Kaleuns,
here is my latest contribution to the subsim community.
I have, for weeks now, tried to re-create many historically accurate U-boat emblems. I thought that I would share it with you. If you are hardcore submarine fan I thought you might appreciate it.
I have been using multiple resources to create these emblems, mostly George Hogel's: U-boat emblems of world War II and as well as my extensive archive.
Here is version 1.0 (so far 382 historically accurate emblems). I am planning to release updates every additional 30-40 emblems.
The mod is JSGME ready.

A lot of hard work and countless hours went into this mod and I hope you guys will enjoy them.
I have been trying to be historically as accurate as possible, but if you find any mistakes please let me know.

As always: any comments or constructive criticism is welcome.

After being brought to my attention that this mod causes CTD I have fixed the files. Big thanks to PRIVATEER for pointing out to me that "[" and "]" characters are not allowed in SHIII. The corrected files no longer contain them. I have kept version number (1.0) because this is not an update per se. I apologize to everybody who messed up their carriers for not testing the mod before released but for some strange reasons I cannot install GWX3 so I am not in position to test it.
Making wrong assumption that these are "only TGA files" I didn't think that they might cause a problem... Sorry.

Version 1.1 is up. Additional 50 emblems. In order to keep the download small, I suggest renaming your MOD folder to version 1.1 and copy/overwrite these additional files:

Version 1.2 is up. Additional 55 emblems (50 new ones, 5 revisions).

Version 1.3 is up. Additional 71 emblems (have lost track how many new ones and how many corrections ).

Thanks for all your hard work. If there are no problems with the mod, you will receive almost no feedback. It is only when there is a problem that the replies pile upl

Conus00,

First of all thank you very much for this mod. I was trying to do something similar many years ago, but between RL and the daunting task of trying to get all the emblems collocated and prepared for the SHIII game was to say the least whelming.

Combining all 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 there is a total of 542 U-boat emblems. What really sealed it for me was that you had U-657's x 2 emblems. This U-boat is my boat of choice.

Once again I thank you for your hard work in delivering a ready to go U-boat emblem package.
This is a must have mod

Kind regards

Venatore

Thanks a lot, Venatore!

I intend to continue in creating more of them but unfortunately the hockey season already started so my free time is going to be limited now.

Also our lease expired on our apartment so we are moving to townhouse at the end of November for six months and then again in June from Columbus, OH to Tampa.

Too much stuff to worry about now. I'll keep modding as time allows.

I'm really glad to hear that its not a dead project. I can personally and painfully relate with you regarding how Real Life will make decisions for you.

All the same, Rome wasn't built in a day... and many of us are patient folk. I look forward to your releases as you are able.

Whenever you are finished with the whole shabang... it will constitute an important simulation document... and may have continued relevance in SH5.
