Default Sinking Yamato in Quick Mission Last Goal

Hi,
anybody completed this mission?

I can't barely get any close to the Yamato in the harbor. The coastal batteries fried me and I can't submerge in shallow waters.

Any strategy?

Thanks

I did it. Just submerge enough that you aren't visible. It means almost scraping bottom, but you can get deep enough.

Yea, you can run with decks awash, but you can make it. I think I went in at 45 ft OK. Just get deep as you can and far enough away that the stationary ships don't see anything sticking out.

Yes they are right, I also put some spare crew into Damage Control. Some of the guns might get a lucky hit . Other wise at the beggining move north past the fishing boats, then north east into a very small strait, this will take you into a small sea where you may find a couple Shore Batteries, but just run flank at a small angle north east even more. Do this, that way you will escape a escorted convoy heading to port, I'd advise saving your torpedoes though, through the second straight there are ALOT of Guns. You can run on the surface a good bit of the way there but then you HAVE to run as deep as possible. Try to get deep enough, and keep your scope low once you enter the port. head near the farthest left merchant INSIDE the port, i had my scope up and it started shelling me . By the time your there it will be pretty dark, you can quit battlestations and let your crew rest for a couple hours until daylight (i try not to fight at night, just a querk), or if you can even see anything, torp the yamato where she rests. If you have the time, try torping the two merchants in the port, the one outside the walls is dangerous too fyi. Good Luck! By the time i was done, 3 merchants sunk, and one warship .
