Default sound editing

okay, I have one more question.........does anyone know if it would be possible to make an individual sound for the walther turbine and preferebly one that follows the changes in rpm? Currently the sound for the electric propulsion system is used.

I dunno about how to go about it, but my guess, you find a sound byte you want (< 12 seconds) load it into the sh.sdl file, then, find that file that plays when you fire up the turbine, and viola...IM not sure about the details, but im sure it can be done.

take an idling jet engine, im sure thats turbine-y enough

@Sledgehammer:

Well, to find a sound that I want is no problem , the file thing you mention is the problem . The walther turbine uses the same sound file as the electric engine, you know, the submarine_electric.wav I think it's called, so what I mean is, is it possible to sort of expand the library of sounds by adding a special one for the walther turbine.....or maybe that's what you're trying to tell me? I have to admit that I do not have experience with sound modding in SH4. Normally if I want to improve a sound I just substitute the wav. files. That SH.SDL file, is that a file that tells what sound that goes to what?
