Campaign difficulty- what does it do?

Simple, stupid question. Does campaign difficulty just affect the various realism options, or does it actually change things in the campaign (number of encounters, AI intelligence, etc)?

I think it just changes the options as far as realism is concerned.

You're thinking right.

This is also why the difficulty is set to 'custom' (IIRC) if you adapt the realism settings to fit your own needs.

Take note that the campaign settings are a global change thing. You may want to fine tune your settings while in your office.

Look for a radio on the top shelf off to the left, click on that

It seems to vary. If equipped in a quick diving boat with radar, I rarely get them. If I am in a Narwhal, I get lots.
