Mission Guide

I know there is a good post somewhere around here that details how you go about achieving mission objectives but I can't find it...yes I know there is a search function and I tried it

Specifically I was out on a patrol, delivered some supplies to guerrillas in the Philippines, and then was instructed to pick up some English, Dutch, Portuguese, and Filipinos from East Timor. I went to the life preserver icon, nothing happened. I sailed close to shore and stopped. Nothing happened.

Any help with how to complete this mission would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone knows where to find the topic with the mission explorations that too would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah that is the topic but it doesn't seem to cover my mission...I'm using RSRD.

Anyone ever come across a mission like this where you are directed to an island to pick people up?

Insertion Spy.
You have to go to the objective location and drop off a spy. The radius of this mission is usually 3 nautical miles. You have to surface the boat once within this radius and bring the boat to a stop (or go very slowly) in order to be able to launch the spy's dinghy. Once the dinghy is launched the objective is completed. The option to launch the dinghy will not appear unless you surface, so you can either enter the area submerged or do a quick dive and resurface once at the objective. You usually get 200 renown points for completing this mission.

Yea I know it says 'insertion' just think of it as the inverse 'withdraw spy'
