Is it possible to indicate visual contacts by lines like sonar contacts?

Hi,

does anyone know whether it is possible to change the way how visual contacts are shown on the map? It would be great if visual contacts could be shown on the map like radar or sonar contacts, i.e., just by a line in the direction. I think this would be a good comprimise between knowing everything exactly and no help at all from the crew.

Any information would be great! I hope it is not hard-coded.

I cannot answer your question satisfying, but have you heard about the old "Assisted Plotting Mod"? It's a compromise. Visual contacts are only visible in the map for a short time, if you move the mouse over them. Sonar contacts are displayed as lines.

This shows that people already tried to mod this issue, but without 100% satisfying success, so I guess, it's hard-coded.
