Question (with reference to surface ships)

Dear sir's

ive always wanted to play with a surface ship in SH.
Currently i own SH4 (without the expansion pack). And ive been testing
for some some ships to work.
KMS scharnhorst
Vitterio Veneto
but they don't work. Is it because they are for the expansion pack?
If so what ships can i use for the vanilla version( with updates off course)
preferrably for campaign mode. I don't require the links Just the names of the ships. THen ill search the forum myself
If not what could i have done wrong? (I use Jsme).
i have no problems starting the game, but when i want to select a ship class for campaing mode it just isn't there

Three come to mind at the moment and they give a good variety of firepower as well. There's the CL Cleveland, the BBs Iowa and Montana. I've downloaded and played all three in campaign mode so you shouldn't have a problem playing them in 1.4

To answer your question about the ships you tested out and didn't work, I haven't used them myself but I would suspect that they are for the German campaign only.

There are 2 kind of playable surface ships made so far: The kind that will allow you to play in campaign mode and the one that will only let you play in single missions. What kind of file do you have?

Also, when you download a mod file check that the folder ie Littorio contains the Data folder right away and is not something like Littorio\Littorio\Data or your ship will NEVER show up.

It is easy to check if a ship is campaign playable, just expand the ship's folder and check if the folder UPCData (for allies) or UPCDataGE (for Axis) is present, if it is then the ship should display in carrer mode as a selection, otherwise it will display ONLY as single mission.

Hope it helps you, I have the addon but I am sure they might work in SH4 stock but not really sure since I never tested them.

My team and I are making T.S.W.S.M. (The Surface Warfare Super Mod), it is for 1.5. It should be out by early July if we keep the ball rolling.

Try Jmardin's models they are campaign playable and very fun to play with.

Hurry up because he had to re upload the Iowa as personal request since filefront erased his files. You should thank him too, modding is something we usually take for granted but requires a lot of time.
