Default NEW alien vs predator

Didn't know they were working on a new one, but apparently they are.

Might aswell use this thread to tell whoever doesnt know, that there's a new Alien game coming too. Aliens: Corporate Marines or something like that.

Hunter mate, we are going to get that new AvP game right? I'd love to have a 'hug' with you.

Not sure about the new AvP, but IIRC, the new Alien game will be on the planet where they were on Alien & Aliens, Hadley's Hope or whatever the colony was called.

That is ok by me for the Aliens game. But AvP started as a game first and then really bad movies second.

Personally I preferred AvP 1 over 2, it played better in many ways, and I thought it more atmospheric (AvP 2 music always tiped you off). Don't get me wrong though I did like the alien life cycle aspect (other then in multiplayer), and stuff like the shoulder lamp, but the ai wasnt so hot (they totaly killed the stealth aspects of the alien), and multiplayer was hopelessly unbalanced (preditor cloak was perfectly invisible, alien life cycle never worked well as the person you just killed would often show up and kill you after hatching and if he didnt you couldnt hide very well anyhow, scoring issues due to the unbalancing parts, etc)

This game is being developed by the same team that did the original. No guarantee offcourse, but I think it will stay pretty true to the first game.

Also, it's the first game in a new series of Alien games published by Sega, with Aliens: Colonial Marines probably being the next one in this series, though coming from a different studio.
Quote:
According to a Kotaku article, Sega said that their new Alien vs Predator game to be released in 2010 would be the first of their Aliens games to be released, meaning that Aliens: Colonial Marines will be sometime afterwards.

A Shacknews article dated 11/21/08 reports that the Aliens: Colonial Marines game has been delayed, supposedly because of layoffs at Gearbox Software. Gearbox president Randy Pitchford has insisted that development on the game continues, but further details on the status of the project have not been released as of this writing.

Amen to that. I was looking forward to Aliens: Colonial Marines, but I'd rather play as the Aliens.

AvP 1 (movie) was 'ok'. The second one was a teenage horror movie, absolute raped the series.

Tho, nothing beats the Alien and Predator movies. AvP doesnt come even close to those.

AvP2 had its moments Dowly. I loved the throw back to Predator that they put in it, still it doesn't beat the Arnie original ("Get to the chopper!")
