Windows 7 7100 + star****e = endless loop

So I made the leap from vista to windows 7 rc7100 last week -- took a bit of ironing out a few things but overall a great tradeoff. I tried to fire up SHIII to see the improvement some are speaking about. Oh yeah, I have the old school disc. I think you can see where this is going.

Has anyone run GWX successfully yet? I either get one of two messages: one of which is "Protection System -- Application Installed Successfully, please reboot to continue." but rebooting doesn't get me out of the loop. Gee, you're installed successfully? I'm so happy for you starforce. If I remove it the other message complains that it's not there.

Am I screwed here? Would a reinstall help?

Use the official SF removal tool followed by the highly unofficial SH3 "no-cd patch"(no links, use Google). Works
