It's not that one... It's skin that Jimbuna mentioned.

Still hoping...

There are some (free) programs that reportedly will recover data from bad hard drives. Perhaps some guru will help you.

Recovering Data from a failed HD depends on several factors.
What type failure is 1st.

If it's a failure to spin up?
You need a Clean room to pull the disks and place them in a
working Donor Drive.

If it's bad sectors?
Depends on which sectors were hammered.
Although it may not be Bootable?
Assigning it as a secondary drive may allow some recovery.
If it whacked the Master Tables?
Your pretty much done unless VERY knowledgeable
at recovery techniques.

There is a Master Table and a backup Table which is an index of all
sectors and who and what they belong to.
Lose the Master and you can't access the drive without
proper tools.
Lose both?
It's High dollars to recover the data.
And there is never a Guarantee that all Data will be recovered.

I've seen bills of around $10,000.00 to recover 50 Megs of Data!
That was when I worked for Lawyers that did not do proper
backups.
