Default A question and a problem solved (flat sun)..

Ok, so I've been playing SH3 for a number of weeks now with various mods (see sig) and there are a few things that I'd like to know:

1) I'm using GWX 3 and have just started a career in the 7th Flotilla where the first missions involve shakedowns in the bay. On the map there are target ships clearly marked but if I sink them, I get a renown hit as they are neutrals. Now, I know you can change the .cfg file to make neutrals a zero renown value which I did, but when I experimented again I still got a renown hit and upon checking the .cfg it was back to -1. Looking at my mods and the fact that I believe SH3 Commander is adjusting the .cfg I then went to the !Backup folder and adjusted the .cfg there to remove the renown hit. Is this right? Does rolling back SH3 Commander cause the .cfg to change or is it one of my mods? I haven't tried sinking a neutral since adjusting the backup .cfg so do I need to change any others? As well as in the first few patrols before war, I want to be sure that if I fire on unlit ships at night (as I see them as fair game, their faults) I'm not going to be punished, yet get no rewards.

2) A solution: I use an NVidia card (9500GT 512), which is budget but runs SH3 and all the mods well and I was getting the flat sun problem. I tried the flat sun fix but that didn't work. The only thing that gave me a corona was by hitting shift-pageup but that caused me to get jaggies. I use nhancer that gives me great control over my graphics but the flat sun was bugging me as no nhancer setting appeared to help. Anyways, I then found out about the resolution fix on the subsim downloads page and installed it, setting resolution to 1280x1024 (17" LCD). Voila!! No more flat sun and no need to do the shift-pageup method as it works on my normal settings. I can't remember who is responsible for the resolution fix but you have my gratitude if you're reading.

Oh and one final thing. How do I make it so the forums display new posts at the bottom and not the top? I'm used to new posts being added downwards and can't get used to it the other way...

It only took one T1 eel to convince that boat not to float.
