Default GI Joe:Resolute

Has anyone else here seen the GI Joe:Resolute cartoon hosted on Adult Swim? If not I would suggest you check it out. As they are being shown as webisodes now. Furthermore, for those outside of the States, it can also be found on Youtube. I shouldn't say more because I'd spoil it, but so far it's been pretty sweet!

P.S.
Cobra Commander is no longer a joke, he's pretty bad***!

P.S.S.
Here is something from Wired.

Quote:
Written by comics superstar (and Wired U.K. columnist) Warren Ellis and directed by Joaquim dos Santos (Justice League Unlimited, Avatar: The Last Airbender), G.I. Joe: Resolute is ditching futuristic tech like lasers in favor of more realistic action featuring knives, bullets and rocket-propelled grenades. Whatever. It makes the original series, which itself is mostly riddled with the fumes of nostalgia, look as bad as it really was.

The 60-minute G.I. Joe: Resolute story will air in its entirety April 25 on Adult Swim proper. Can't wait that long? Head to Canada. As with Marvel's compelling animated series Wolverine and the X-Men and Spectacular Spider-Man, our friendly neighbors to the north can watch G.I. Joe: Resolute on Teletoon a day early, according to the network's communications supervisor, Kate Dickson.

And he should be. He was easily the best character from the whole franchise, even when he was bumbling about. I miss his old voice, though.

I didn't even know there was another imagination of GI Joe coming out, but this one seems pretty neat. I watched all 5 of the episodes I found on youtube and I have to say that I wish the cartoon had been made that way in the first place. (and that I had been allowed to watch it)

Oh, well. I just hope that the movie is halfway decent.

And how many of you are old enough to remember when G.I. Joe was a set of US military action figures, with no TV series to sell them? They were much maligned as "Glorifying war", since it was the middle of the Vietnam era and a vast majority of the target group was anti-war at the time.

Raises hand, I remember setting up dioramas with tanks and machine gun nests and then blowing it all up with fire crackers. Then we would tie the dolls to a piece of string and drag them behind out bikes till there little heads would fall off.

Woah... Id better be careful or Ill end up on one of those profile lists :rotfl:

I'm only old enough to remember the first cartoon series..

I have to say though as a kid I always rooted for Cobra, just because the Joes were such goody goody nit wit phoneys and didn't deserve to win all the time. That and they always won in the stupidest most lame ways possible, ususaly prompting me to yell "oh come oooon!" at the tv at the end of each episode.

I felt the same for the Transformers too. Couldn't stand the autobots, and wanted the decepticons to win.

Guess I'm not a goody goody and tend to like the underdog. That or maybe I'm just evil

That was back when every GI Joe had 12 inches.

Uh I meant every GI Joe was 12 inches high.

Although I have to admit, I was more a Matt Mason kid myself.
