I get a radar contact. At first I think it's a sub net, water is rough, but it has outline of a boat, but you see nothing underwater. When the water was calm, you could see rudder and prop.
It locked on as Target1, which is a blank page in the ID book using TMO1.7 and RSRD. I sent a torp at it and it blew up stating, Neutral target destroyed. So what is this I sunk. |

purely a guess but i think i read somewhere that ducimus used invisable ships to simulate reefs or sandbars to act as barriers in the game

No doubt it was a sunken ship. What was strange, from the surface you could see the shape, rudder and prop, but an inch under water you say nothing. Guess the way the game programs a sunken ship over time.
You can go over it at flank and do no damage, but it takes a long time. The rubbing causes sparks to fly all over. First I thought some electric shock, cause I've never seen it before. See the sparks at the bow....pretty, ain't they. ![]() |

Hey if you ever see a map marker that says "What is this!" make sure you check that one out. ![]() If you can catch it.

It's a photo target.
In RL, submarines would NEVER have looked into a port to "take pictures" of ships. Recon missions were to take pictures of facilities (phosphate plants/docks), or beach defenses in advance of invasion, etc. The game engine requires that a unit be a ship to lock it, and it requires a lock to take a picture. Since the game engine does not allow locking land units, there is an invisible object to take the place of what you should be photographing. |
