Hi all
Using RFB and RSRD on 1.5 The map labels, habors, gunplacements, own subplacement etc. are all going "wrong" when i zoom in on the map and then slide the map around. I have tried searching the forum for info regarding this problem, but only found one thread where Mush Martin briefly tells that it can be dealt with by opening a layer of the campaign, making a change and saving again. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...lacement+slide If anyone has further info please spill your beans ![]() Here is another thread talking about the same problem. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...lacement+slide |

well it randomly loses its position at any zoom if you move in then back out, it may stay put 7 or 8 times then suddenly your moved over a mile or so.
it does seam to stop drifting out of position after you have moved around 100 miles from where you started out at. its probably something no one looked into enough to figure it out. my solution to it is i go to the map and zoom in fully before entering port or anyplace that close to land so i dont have issues with it. that way if i need to look at the map its already zoomed in and i have no issues. |

Mav,
the fix is to remove RFB 1.52 from activation in JSGME. Go into the RFB Data/Menu/Cfg folder and remove the file Maps.cfg from the folder (or simply rename the file to something like "RFB_maps.cfg"). Of course this will cause the maps to be displayed as the stock game. But, your really not missing any features except to have the "SymbolZoom=15" changed back to the stock "SymbolZoom=10", no big deal. If you want, you can manually change this parameter for both the Nav map and the Attack map. The stock zoom levels will prevent the harbor docks from slipping about like their on ice and the positions are a bit more centered.

You'll lay a set of waypoints to take you out of Pearl. Then suddenly everything will be moved and your waypoints will go through land. It's okay as long as you stick with them, or just go out on VSR (Visual Sailing Rules), but once it's moved you face the possibility of running aground if you lay more waypoints after.

the problem seams to be the final zoom level for the most part.
if your carefull not to fully zoom you can avoid it but if you fully zoom you have to assume everything borked |

If the zoom level at the closest setting is a problem for some, then remove the first level (I believe it's 1; they start at 1,2,5,...... and so on). Removing the first level (1) in both Navigation and Attack Maps should do it.
