Default How I'm spending my stimulus money!

With Kev handing out money left, right and center, and everyone paying off bills and reducing debt with it. I decided to spend it and save money at the same time!

I'm getting a solar hot water system installed! With all the rebates that are around, I decided to get one put in before they take the rebates away.

For the other aussies who are getting the hand out, what are you going to do with it?

If you are in an Arid area a solar water heater is perfect!

From what I can tell they are the most bang for the buck systems we have right now. With them paying for themselves within a year or two vs 10-15 with solar volt.

Krudds stimulus bonus ***cough***bribe***cough***. What a disgrace.

My vote cant be bought Kev, you are hopeless and are ruining this great country, no bribe will see me tick a Labor box at the next election.

A couple of state governments are giving them away. You just pay for the installation. Chatting to a few plumber contacts suggests that this scheme may widen out to other states and territories.

Here in SA, you cant even put electric in any more, unless you meet some specific critria.

As for my spending......................hmmmmm, I could go a swag, and a bit of extra camping gear.

The total cost after rebates is less than the installation!

Here is what I'm getting

http://www.dux.com.au/products.php?name=D4F136W3AC

Within in a couple of years I'll have made a greater saving than the cost, especially if power prcies keep going up as they have!

You guys are getting a right rogering bookworm, in every way possible.

Thank god i live over the border in the ACT. oh, wait, thats not much better...

My stimulus money is going into a "high" interest savings account. the bank can give me a little extra in interest so when the time comes, I only have to pay back many thousands instead of several thousands.

Don't worry tarjak, its not really rudd being generous anyways, its more a case of the Chinese standing to make a motza on the loan repayments!!

You guys are going to love this.
I still have children in Australia through which I pay the Mothers Extortion Society an exorbitant amount of Child Support so she can buy essentials, such as a beach side house. Now because I also maintain bank accounts for my kids, through which if they need/desire something, I can order it and have it delivered to them, I have to declare interest on my account and thus each year file an Australian tax return.

Still with me....now watch this sly move.

The ATO, which has the CSA as a sub department, can intercept refunds to pay for Child Support, will be taking my stimulus and giving it to ex wife as Child Support based on "an increase in taxable income not reported."

Now stay with me, cause you're going to love this.

I also have to pay the tax on it in next years tax return.

Essentially, I have to pay a tax on a stimulus I shouldn't be entitled to, but handed straight to my ex wife, to which I also have to report it as income.

My accountant is outraged, and my barrister is more then willing to work on spec for this b*tchfight. Court date not yet scheduled.

Go nuts pioneer!! stick it to em, and her.

one little note tho - CSA is no longer a part of ATO, they're now a part of dep of human services.
