Is it possible?
![]() I mean, it have never happened to be in thick fog in calm seas. And spotting a ship under such conditions is thrilling for me! |

This is one of the many things I would like to see included in SH5.Also very thick but patchy fog would be great and squalls that temporarily reduce visability. These things would add atmosphere and tactical possibilities to the game as well as dangers.

It is perfectly possible in custom missions, as fog has an independent controller from wind (wind controls sea state), but you are right in that I have NEVER EVER had such a situation -despite it being the common one in real life- duirng a campaign game.

I occasionally have it on vanilla, right before the really heavy weather. Sea like a mirror (well almost), so far as the eye can see (which is usually about 100 meters) and more often than not it rains.
It doesn't stick for long though, usually just a few hours, so I guess some luck is involved.
