The end of the world as we know it.

Just did a full reinstal this weekend, not too worried. Heck, even my old install would probably have been fine. Anyone who downloads the patches and has a decent, up to date anti virus IMO should be fine.

Yes, the Y2K bug!

From what I read, MS has alread sent a patch out for malicious code on this one but apparently it has evolved into something else. If you get it, MS will send out a tool to remove it. Same as before.

Got this From Trend Micro about ten minutes ago:

Security Advisory: Conficker / DOWNAD WormOn April 1st, 2009, the latest variant of the Conficker / DOWNAD worm WORM_DOWNAD.KK will begin to modify the way in which it communicates with other infected botnet nodes (PCs, servers), and will also increase the number of machines it attempts to contact in order to infect them. While there is no evidence that the worm will do anything beyond modifying its communications methods, you should take proper precautions to make sure that you are not already infected and that you are adequately protected. Please visit our website for more information on this worm, how to determine whether your PC or servers are infected, how to clean infected machines, and how to best keep yourself protected.

I must admit that this bugger seems quite intelligent. Or should I say that the guys who patched it together seem so.

For a worm to gain this much attention is IMO a respectable achievement, even if it's designed for malicious purposes.

"put a condom on it" :rotfl:

Because of this crap I have a laptop with strong Virus protection and the minimal tools I need for the internet.

If it gets past that I can do a simple reformat and am back in business.

My Gameing rig is for gameing and no internet connection.

I hope no one has a problem with this virus.

I also hope they catch these a-holes and chop off their hands.
