Help with add-ons.

I am playing "Silent Hunter IV", and I have made some boats playable, but I need some help relating the following topics: how to add sonar, cannons and so on... I need help concerning boats and submarines in general.
Also, when you start a mission, the crew and the boats are rightly placed, but when you create a mission, you have to place/add everything from the very beginning.
If someone could please help me, I would be very grateful.
