Hey, guys,
There were some people who wanted to know when my new dark fantasy story about a mythical Western town in New Mexico would be published after I posted that earlier link regarding my website. (You guys were a big help in giving me advice about that, btw. Thank you.) "Haxan" just went live today in Beneath Ceaseless Skies Magazine. I must say so far so good. It helped me become a memeber of the Horror Writers Association which can't hurt my career. Anyway, here's the link and I really hope you guys like it: http://www.beneath-ceaseless-skies.com/story.php?s=27 There are also character sketches (added content) about the principle characters on my website, in case you're intersted in reading more about them, too, including U.S. Marshall John Marwood which just went up today: http://kennethmarkhoover.com/haxan Please, feel free to let me know what you think about the story. I'm pretty psyched about it so far. Thanks! ![]()

I read it, and it seems like good stuff. Hard to say since I am not an enthusiast of the genre. It's hard for me to picture everything in my head (I'm one of those who lack imagination)
However, I do have a couple of constructive criticisms for you; Quote:
![]() Also, the story seemed to jump from setting to setting a bit too quickly, and the characters could use some more depth (within the story). That being said, I wouldn't trust my opinions too much. Horror and mystery are both genres I tend to avoid when I don't avoid fiction altogether. Thanks for a good read, though ![]()

Thank, guys! Haha, very good catch about the hovel, too, you got me. I believe I was thinking more along the lines of a dugout or a flat roof with a layer of dirt on it for added protection. Hee. Maybe we can correct it when it's archived.
