Default I am hooked on this game...so thank you for all the info!

wanted to say 'thank you' for a very fine informative forums.

I found this game for $10 at HalfPriceBooks, and decided to try it...

wow I am hooked..then found GWX 3.0, THEN just read and found out how to download SH3 commander and all the associated files needed...

BIG THANKS ....I was always a history buff, but now i'm going and buying what I can to learn about the Kriegsmarine and the U-Boat force in paticular...

anyway..just blowing off steam, just finished the Naval Acadamy and fixing to go on my first patrol.

Thanks again

Welcome,

You'll find like most here that this game has a long lifespan and the crew at subsim do a great job in letting us have a place to call our own.

Welcome to the SubSim community. I suggest you read the GWX manual, probably the finest game manual ever written.

Yeah I registered at the forum, thanks fo the link!!

patrol #3, snuck into calais and lit up 3 french, one neutral ship (couldn't ID the flag with the ID recognition) playing at 79% realisim, and the trawlers sat there after my first salvo....odd...ended up with one med cargo, one modern tanker, one small tanker and one coastal merchant, since up on the NE coast of England all I got coal trawlers and coastal merchant

then moving up the coast due to my torpedos expended and rain squall so couldn't man the deck guns...trying to boggie back h ome, and I run into something, and sink by collision..i guess I time compressed way too much and my deck watch didn't call out contacts. Was in the middle fo the channel heading NE..odd...

oh well...Lt. Hans Zumcher lost at sea..time for another one to pony up!

thanks again...

and SH3 really does help...

(how do you guys move back home...i guess I should've ended patrol with the icon, but wanted to do it the right way...)

Killed by collision? lol sounds interesting.. weird stuff happens when the TC is cranked up (so i've noticed)

About returning to port, i'm pretty sure you get extra/bonus renown (if you care about that) if you head within 20km of port and than use exit patrol -> dock at... whichever port you are comming from

It gives a feeling of completeness also, for me atleast.. especially if you've taken damage an manage to get all the way home
