Default Dynamic Shadow

Hi,

Does someone knows how dynamic shadow works for an object? Or does someone has an example for me to look into. Many thanks

Some of the Dynamic Shadows stuff for SH3 is being looked at much closer.

The dats in SH4 do not contain the SHD_ 3D models.
The ACT Controllers file misses the needed reference.
There is no option to enable in SH4.

However.

There are still some references to Dynamic Shadows in SH4.
But you need to know where and what to look for to see this.

I have no idea if they can be enabled for SH4.
Or if it's even worth the time envolved.

I just know that some key stuff is still there.

Dynamic Shadows use a real time alogrithm to adjust the shadow a moving object casts as it moves in relation to the light source. This is probably the most noticeable in Sh4 wave action.

Save the game in heavy seas and use your external camera to go close and watch the wave action. Look carefully at the shadows on the waves. Close the game, open the Main.cfg file and change the line DynamicShadows to Yes. Restart the save and repeat. This will give you an idea of the effect of Dynamic Shadows. If your video card is up to the challenge it increases the eye candy.

Many thanks for the input until now

I had applied the node+controls to get dynamicshadows active in a model and as been frustrating because lack of info on control structure and with any kind results.

But that could be down to what ancient46 mentioned... had the DynamicShadows=No on main.cfg so time to redoing that control and try again

No luck so far... for some reason I can't add a 3D object under the node so probably its why dynamic shadow doesn't work
