I got Screwed out of Renown!

Well, I started a new career in SH3/GWX Gold. Figured I would start out of Konigsberg. Damn it's far but I get a VIIb out the gate and no infernal Kiel canal! Anyway the first patrol in Aug. 1939 is loading... what's this? I'm ordered to do target practice in AO98? Okay! I think "wait a minute, maybe that's BS." Then I see the in mission map "Target Ships". Sure enough! I go, I sink, and I return to base... and I LOSE 500 renown! Seriously. Wha the? Now I'm debating whether or not to repeat the whole boring mission again or just say to heck with it and move on. It's a shame they're listed in my patrol log. I feel like I cheated.

If you loose renown you have been sinking friendly shipping

WWII started in September 39.

All ships in August are neutral.

The August mission is there to help you train your crew and hone your skills.

You were also given that renown to compensate you for the negative renown deducted for sinking those targets.
