Is there any way to stop the radio messages in GWX 3.0? I use Sh3 Commander and have the time compression setting set to max (2048) when "recieve radio message," but, it does not prevent me from coming out of TC when I recieve a message. The messages are a great immersion aspect to the mod and game, however, it gets quite annoying along a long patrol when irrelevent to anything messages continually bring you out of TC. So, is there any way to edit them or remove the irrelevant ones? Also, Why is it when a convoy or task force or some very important message is recieved does it NOT come out of TC? I have always found this very odd.
Thanks, Jazer

I think maybe someone released a mod, but you can just delete them manually.

Thanks, AVSM, you Ace! But how would I go about deleting them manually? What files, etc.?

Alrighty...
go to Whateveryourinstallfolderis/silent hunter 3/data/campaigns/campaign Then go into messages_EN (Or whatever language you use) and wipe it out. I don't think you should delete it completely. It will be a pain to separate the ones that actually DO matter (E.G. the Bismarck vs. RN) but I suppose you could copy and paste the ones you want to keep somewhere else.

I've got a Messages Lite mod that gets rid of all non-essential messages and reduce the total number over the course of the war to less than 200. You'll still hear about base changes or important missions (defending the Bismarck etc) but it cuts out all of the 'immersion' messages. JSGME installation etc. etc.

I use a mod called Radiolog_Expansion_V2 It has 4 folders with different options. I use one of the daily doubles. Which means I get 90% of my radio messages at either 0600 or 2300. Usually 4 messages each time. So most days I only get my TC dropped 2 times a day from messages. Though occasionaly I'll get one at some other time. This is usually if I sent a status report that I am out of torpedoes, then I get a message saying return to base. Or I get one that says good job.
I like this mod because I still get the messages that help with immersion but it doesn't constantly drop my TC down. Thomsen's sound pack V3.1 includes a sound associated with the radio message that fits well. So now I actually look forward to 0600 and 2300 to see updates about steamers that hit mines. Lost U-boats, Convoys leaving certain ports. etc.... |

The T/C settings for radio messages are a 'real-time' setting in Commander. Beware if you alter that setting it will have consequences to other more vital game T/C interupts. The received messages (convoys) are in their own setting.
