Saving during a convoy attack...

I was just about attack a small 2-ship convoy in the Med when some piece of sh*t drug addict set off the fire alarm!! Because the alarm is so frigging loud I had to save my game; I can't concentrate with the g*ddammed thing blaring away. Can I reload this save as I was surfaced when I saved it or do I have to go back & reload from a previous save where I was nowhere near anything (land, ships & planes)?

Thanking you in advance.

You might as well try it, and if it works, great. If not, too bad

Why not just leave the game paused while you headed outside?

I'm sure your save is fine. No risk in trying to load it up anyways!

Obviously pausing is the best option (as already pointed out by mookie) but saving means the ships will be rendered again whilst within 32km of you....so there is a % chance they will not follow their waypoints.....but only a % chance.

Update...

Just wanted to let you all know that I reloaded the save at the point where I'd left off & I got away with it!The game loaded alright and I was able to proceed with the attack. Sank the 2,000 ton passenger/cargo ship & left the V&W searching fruitlessly for me. I hope that some relative of that f*cking crackhead was still aboard when she went down! I kept going & saved again only after I was in the next grid square; well away from anything.

The game must have loaded alright as there were only 2 ships in the immediate vicinity and I was still surfaced when I saved. If it had been a large convoy or I had been submerged I'd probably been SOL.

One not so p*ssed off kaleun...

I'm more concerned about the possible fire in your building!

It's not funny to me. We have at least 10-15 fire alarms every month here. My landlord rents to these f-ing "Streets To Home" people (homeless) & a lot of these idiots have drug problems. They let their addict friends in off of the street into their apartment & the addicts wind up taking over the place and turning it into a crackhouse. I used to feel sorry for these homeless people but that sympathy evaporated a long time ago. Complaining to the landlord is useless because they don't give a sh*t, they don't have to live with this garbage. I wish that I could move but I can't really afford anything better & getting a transfer out of here is like pulling teeth: a long, drawn out and painful process.

Sorry for the rant but it's pretty frustrating here sometimes.
