More questions on crew management

Just a couple more questions on crew management:
1. Is there any in-game way to keep track of the number of patrols by each crew member, or should it be done manually outside of the game?
2. Back to that issue of "disappearing" deck gun crew: Once they disappear (because I messed up in loading new deck guns), is there any way to recover those crew slots?
3. What is the purpose, and how do we take advantage, of those temporary ability icons for some crew members? They come with the weirdest tags, such as "Increase fanatical chance". WTF is that? Is there a list of possible tags and corresponding temporary abilities?
