Default Ship length PDF download

I have prepared a table in pdf format for download of SH4 (stock game) IJN IMPERIAL MEASURMENTS (the word "imperial is used twice, one as an part of the the proper noun "Imperial Japanese Navy" and once as as an adjective describing "measurements" [I think I have lost my mind! What do you think?]. Getting back to business --- You can use place it on your desk and refer to it as necessary.

However, there is a serious problem using imperial measurements in RFB/RSRDC for such useful things as calculating torpedo spread with Hitman's TSAC (torpedo spread angle calculator) mod, where ship length is an indispensible element. His TSAC mod appears incompatible with RFB in that it makes the nomograph dissappear from the Navigaiton Map.) Also, without a ship's length, you cannot perform the mathematical calculations required to determine a target's aspect ratio for manual targeting.

Here is the problem. In RFB there are many more ships than in the stock game. I have a compiled a list of IJN warships totalling 53 in RFB! That is 26 more than in the stock game where my list totals 27 per the pdf. Merchants, fishing boats and passenger ships total 27 in RFB and 18 in the stock game. Assuming my count is accurate, I need ships' lengths for for approximately 45 ships to prepare a similar pdf for use in RFB. I am prepared to enter the information and prepare a table for pdf downloand while we await RFB experts to upgrade the RFB submarine sighting guide (i.e. the identification manual). I will offer it in a format similar to the one linked below if someone can provide me the data or give me a link to where I can find it that does not require me spending too much time.

I started this task with the intention of preparing a table of ships' lengths for use in RFB. I didn't realize the substantial difference between the number of IJN ships in the stock game vs. RFB, as I have not encountered to many warship s in RFB yet. So message your fellow captains and see if we can come up with the ship lengths for all of the boats in RFB, so I may prepare a table for its playeres to use.

Here is the link to the PDF!

Would it be possible to make this available in .pdf? I don't use Wordperfect, so I can't open the document.

I think more people will run into this issue, and I doubt anyone will have trouble with a .pdf.

Great job on the info I do agree with Arclight though, PDF would be great. Here is a link for a FREE download for a utility that will convert anything "printable" into a PDF file. http://www.cutepdf.com/ It works great, I use it often. Once installed, open the document (you have already created) and go to print. You will now see the "Cute PDF Writer" in your list of printers. Select it and print, save anywhere you want, name it whatever you want, your done!

Default hi

I will try to post a pdf later today. First, I am going to a movie. Second, I am going out for lunch. Third, I want to correct the formating errors on page 2 of the document. Fourth, I will upload it to FileFront. Fifth, I will post a new link in my original post. I think that is fairly clear. Over and out (the door!)

Default PDF download is ready.

the requested PDF download is ready. Please read the text preceding the link to FileFront. I do not have enough information to prepare tables for RFB, as you will see. The list I prepared is for the stock game.

Thank you for the PDF conversion.

I noticed in the RFB thread that you were requesting additional info on the models introduced by that mod. Maybe you can convince them to provide a link/DL to the source(s) used for creating the new models? Those would probably contain the ships lenghts you require to complete the list.

The only sources I can find at the moment are CD-ROMs that you need to buy and this, but it doesn't list any merchants.

Default note re the ships' lengths

When I was attempting to make a ships' length table for RFB, which I was unable to complete because I could not find information re the ships' lenghths for all of the ships in that Mod, I noticed that some of the RFB ships' lengths are different than the lengths for identical ships played in the stock game. I am not sure, therefore, whether, in the case of a variance between ships' lengths in the stock game and RFB mod, which lengths are correct. I do recall that the readme or the post re SCAF mod noted that it modified and corrected ships' lengths in the stock game.

I discovered the discrepancy between the ships' lengths for certain ships when I was comparing the the ships' lengths for RFB listed on a pdf generated for a fomer version of that mod with my pdf re ships' lengths in the stock game. Go figure. Someone needs to tell us what are the proper lengths for the boats in stock game vs. RFB and TMO. They need to provide the correct ship lengths for all ships added by those mods and for any ships whose lengths vary from the lengths of identicial ships in the stock game. I formally reguest through this post and thread that they do so.

(I hope you appreciated the placement of the apostophe's at the end of the word "ships", which indicates that it is a plural possessive adjective.)
