Default Videocard question

I have a Vista 64 system (I know that is the problem right there) and keep getting the folowing:

I am playing WWIIOL or IL2:1946 for about 20 minutes before my screen goes bright white and locks up. After 30 seconds or so I am thrown to desktop and the following pops up "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding, but has succesfully recovered"

My computer just came out of the shop. It does nothing else wrong but this.

Anyone else get this and were able to overcome it. It is very frustrating.

Check to see if the card is getting proper cooling.

The problem isn't vista 64 - as it runs fine (though you do need to tweak it). Your running an Nvidia card as the file referenced is part of the driver kernel. Zachstar is right - looks to be locking up due to overheating. Either that or the card is going - but as it only happens in a stressing game - I suspect he is dead right - its heat.

Interesting. I will take a look at the cooling issue, though I did install an extra 120mm fan to help with the cooling. Thanks for the replies.

The message is telling you something about the driver. I do have Vista 64 and run a 9800GT without issue at all. Might want to see about an updated driver.
