What I don't understand is why is this news 12 years after the fact? I remember how cool I thought it was at the time, breaking the sound-barrier on land and all, but it was back in 1997.

It was travelling so fast that people in the past learned about it before us an now we are bored by it. I would also like to see a video of the car crashing for the sheer hilarity of it.
