Default GWX 3.0- CTD Whenever A DD Hits a Blockship

Achtung Alle!

I, like most of us, have been enjoying GWX 3.0 (except for the weird errors with the awards), but I've unfortunately come across another problem.

I've been raiding Dunkirk harbor with my Type II and I've been forced to reload the same saved game and sink the same ships about 5 times now because of mysterious crashes to desktop, which have not happened any other time I have been playing.

To try to find the problem, I zoomed out and looked at what the AI ships in the harbor were doing while I was sinking troopships. As soon as I torpedoed a ship inside the harbor, the destroyers in the area went suitably ape-**** and started racing around the inside of the harbor, trying to find me. I think I might have witnessed the problem. The game would crash right after a destroyer even touched a blockship.

Has anyone else been having this kind of problem?

Most old school GW3 developers don't agree with dock raiding, so this makes sense.
JK, I think this might be result if you save games too close or in radius of docks, try save game 100km away before approaching to any docks. Maybe that dock has a bug, something that beta testers missed.

Don´t save in a radius of 50km? near ports and convois. After loading the save game, ships in port "forget" their routes and run ashore and aground in circles

AFAIK this is a stock bug.

Thanks for the information guys. Saving too close to a port is probably what is causing the problem, because the save in question is only about 1km from Dunkirk.

I had a report of CTD's concerning the Blockade Ships dureing testing.
I was in Multi-player mode.
Any hits to the Blockades caused CTD.

I ran tests in Single Missions where I torpedoed, deck Gunned, Rammed them.

Never a CTD.

Why they would cause CTD in Campaign or Multi-Player Games
I have not discovered.

But if it's a rare thing that only 5 or 6 out of thousands suffer?
(There are over 5000 downloads from my FileFront site)
I'd probably never figure out the problem.

That is really odd because in my game the destroyer doesn't even have to make direct contact with the blockship. I have reloaded the same game many times (which may be contributing to the problem as was pointed out above) and exact same thing happens every time. At 6:44 a British destroyer heads into the port and when it comes about 15 feet from a blockship, the game crashes. I assume that is what's causing the CTDs because it is the only thing happening in port, besides my 2 eels running towards a parked Troopship.

It is getting a bit frusterating because (as many of us know) GWX 3.0 load times are VERY long (but worth it in the end.) Having to reload the same save over and over to try and see if I can get a different result is burning me out. I guess I'll have to go back to a previous save and leave Dunkirk alone for the time being.

You win this round Troopship!
