I'm a bit confused and at the point of bailing and loading a save over this one.
TMO 1.6.3 with RSRD June, 1943. Based at Fremantle, just took command of a Gato class. First mission in the new boat is a supply mission to some bay in the western arm of Mindinao. Can't remember the name of it as obviously I'm not in the game now, and my Rand McNally calls it something else. Anyway... My orders are to remain on station for four hours before dropping supplies. Huh? What moron wrote that order? So I sit at the "drop point" for over six hours, and never get the launch boat icon. And now, guess what? I have two IJN task forces on radar steaming right at me, I'm trapped in this shallow, tiny bay. Something is amiss.

Hmmm...Don't know if this will help in this circumstance, but after finishing my current patrol, I just installed the newest TMO last night and when looking over the manual (can be downloaded at the TMO mod download page) it said there are options for different types of missions dependient upon which base you start from. Might want to check it out. Here is an excerpt from the manual.....
Career Options Trigger Maru has 8 career options available to you: 1. Pacific Fleet: Standard flotilla based in Hawaii. Patrols the mid pacific, East China Sea, and Empire waters. 2. Pacific Fleet / Div 2: More heavily involved in Special operations, receiving a Spec Ops mission of some kind every other patrol. Operates in the mid pacific, East China Sea, and Empire waters. (a “gamey” option for those bored with the usual routine of hunting ships) 3. Asiatic Fleet: Patrols the south west Pacific, and South China Sea. 4. Asiatic Fleet / Div 2: More heavily involved in Special operations, receiving a Spec Ops mission of some kind every other patrol. Patrols the mid pacific, East China Sea, and Empire waters. (a “gamey” option for those bored with the usual routine of hunting ships) 5. Alaska Command: This is a very basic campaign focusing on S boats in the Aleutian islands during the time of the Japanese invasion of Kiska and Attu. 6. Holy Loch, UK: This is a very basic campaign focusing on small time frame in which the US was sending some of its fleet boats from Submarine Squadron 50, into the Atlantic. Operation Torch is NOT scripted, although I would very much like to get this done someday. 7. New Construction, 42: It was not uncommon for an executive officer on one submarine, to be Starting pointsdetached from his current boat, and be sent back to the United States to commission a new boat as it's captain. This was more or less called, “being sent to new construction”. Selecting this option will start you off near Mare Island, California. Where your newly commissioned Gato class submarine is to undergo sea trials before transferring to the Pacific Fleet as a front line combat submarine. If you absolutely must have a Gato class as early in the war as possible, this is an excellent option. 8. New Construction 43 . This is the same as New Construction 42, except that your commissioning a Balao class submarine instead of a Gato. If you absolutely must have a Balao class as early in the war as possible, this is an excellent option. Last edited by Soundman; 01-27-09 at 02:41 PM. |

Soundman, RSRD over writes the campaign layer of TMO. Different missions, different orders, etc...
I am still at a loss about this.

I hear what your saying, but I would tend to believe that the RSRDC for TMO would leave the campaign changes Ducimus made intact. Only Lurker or Ducimus could tell us for sure. If you look at number 4 above, it sounds like your getting those type missions.

S! Freiwillige, good to see you as well. Actually I play SH4 as much as IL2 these days.
I did manage to complete this segment of the mission. I thought if the German Navy can dash up the English Channel in front of the whole Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, then I can show the IJN a thing or two. I made a full speed run between the two Japanese task forces. The two DDs nearest me actually got within visual range and gave chase but I was far enough ahead and got to deep water. I crash dived to 400 ft. went to silent running, lowered speed to just under one knot and slipped away as they laid a few depth charge patterns far astern of me. After nightfall I went back to the drop point, waited another four plus hours, and was able to complete the supply drop. I am now cruising southeast to see what trouble I can stir up around Davao. ![]()

First I played an entire career with TMO 1.6.3 when it came out. Then I installed RSRD over it. It's clear that RSRD overwrites the TMO objectives and shipping orders.
