Default Its come on a bit since I last looked!

Hi guys,
I've had SH4 for ages but was so into SH3 I decided to hold off installing until I felt done with 3. Well as your all aware it just kept getting better.........
However, 3's just crashed out on me so I've decided to install 4 and see what everyones raving about, its installing now.
Theres been a few mods/upgrades to 4 since I looked and I would appreciate a bit of a heads up on what mods are out there and what people recommend.
Ran SH3 under GWX and commander at 80%, no idea - but about to find out - what 4 has in store but any advice re mods would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.........

There is no 'commander' for SH4 regretably.

I suppose the most important thing is to get the uboat expansion (V1.5) not necessarly for the addittional content but for the patches it contains.

Secondly you will JSGME but your probably already familiar with that, however you will need a new installation into the root of SH4.

Once you have that installed and working move on to the mods. There are two 'major' ones ... TMO & RFB.

I would suggest you spend a little time in the modding section and do a little homework on which you would prefer.

Ditto what Steam said, but may I add, If you prefer to play the stock game for a while, I would still suggest one of the visual mods, EE5.0 or PE4.

definately get the ubm 1.5 ad-on and if you play stock you would want to get all the available fixes for the game.

its easy to get them all with the links at my "game fixes only" mod page in my sig.

if you use TMO or RFB they should have most of these fixes in them but i cant say if they have them all. plus they include environmental mods so you dont need those if you use TMO or RFB.

TMO makes the game very hard even if it stretches realism and RFB goes for pure realism but its still challenging too.

ps- most of the mod action is found in the sh4 mods workshop forum

When it first came out I got it via d\l, have had no problems with it. Since then I have also bought the Gold Edition, which contains the original SH4 + the U-Boat Expansion.
Got it at EB Games.
