Naval Air Station Tillamook,Oregon
I took a road trip with Rocky today, The destination: Naval Air Station Tillamook. Their blimps patrolled the West Coast from 1942~1948. One of the volunteers said that one of their blimps sank a Jap sub during the war.
This place is huge. There used to be a second hanger, but it burned down 10, 15 years ago? The second hanger was built in 29 days! Blimp models. They have a large WW2 airplane collection: Oscar U-boat's worst nightmare...PBY Catalina more to come...
