Default Got greedy again

Ive been doing real well at not being stupid latley but I came across a juicy convoy on the outskirts of the thames and couldnt refuse. First I tried skirting it but the escorts always picked me up and made a mad dash for me 16 KM out! So after being forced under a half dozen times by those little fast patrol boats and whatever those small escourts are (not destroyers but the ugly tugboat looking ones) I surfaced and knocked out two escourts and two patrol boats. But every time I sunk one another left the convoy and attacked. Just when I dwindled em down to there last two boats they sunk me.

I just couldnt walk away I had tonnage syndrome!

This is how life is made in GWX Every time you hit a DD another one will take his place to try to hunt you down.. If you'll ever try to torp already damaged merchant who's desperately tries to keep up with the convoy, you will again attract one of the escorts back from a convoy.
Or if you use a bold near convoy to cover yourself from pinging escort-destroyer, another one will come to support and so on. The more bolds you'll use the more escorts will come to get you

Speaking of greed , I was chasing a convoy (actualy a damaged tanker at the end of it - not enough eels for bothering with the convoy), when I spotted a fast liner.

Since I don't often see a liner, I decided to go after her and forget the convoy. On my chase I ran into the convoy's escort, who almost blocked my path. Blind from greed, I continue at flank speed, only slightly altering my course in hope that the escort won't spot me. She did.

I quickly dived and managed to escape. Deep below, I continued my chase. Then the convoy changed course and passed directly above me. When I heard the damaged tanker going towards me, the greed overwhelmed my better judgement. The escorts were far away, so I blew the balast tanks and went from 200m to periscope depth and sank the tanker.

That didn't please the escorts, and two of them kept me below for three hours. By the time I surfaced, the liner was long gone.

I think BdU would approve of your taking the sure thing rather than go chasing the two in the bush.
