Default A great time manager

I was reading an op-ed pice and noticed the author....What the...? Isn't he busy with, like, saving his marriage, salvaging his reputation? He also has time to weigh in on Obama's economic stimulas plan... ?

The Obama stimulus package should be spent on transformative investments, not bridges and buildings.

People are never too busy to have opinions.

I pray to God that there will be no "New New Deal" or significant infrastructure investment. Last time we did that it caused astronomical inflation, public debt, unemployment, brought this country closer than it has ever been to becoming an autocratic state, and ultimately ended up dragging us into the most devestating conflict in the history of mankind, followed by a half-century Soviet power that was directly involved in dragging us into two more wars.

If Obama wants to pass a massive stimulus package that takes the form of tax relief, great. I'm behind him 100%. I don't even care who gets the tax reief, as long as they buy or invest. That being said, I hope he plans to cut spending by an equal or greater amount. One of the few powers he actually has as President is to veto Congressional bills, giving the GNP time to catch up with the money supply.

This whole situation is beginning to look disturbingly familiar, and the course of action our representatives take could very well mean the difference between economic stability and another World War.

Yeah, I saw that thread. What's worse is that the New Deal wasn't the first significant cultural event to begin the destruction of a great nation. They all followed the same pattern; Increasing state control to the point of economic collapse followed by interventionist, militarist, and socialist economic policy in a vain attempt to avoid the economic collapse that a centralist state inevitably brings.

Well, at least there's some hope for today's generation. Rome didn't fall in a day.
