How to edit saved game files to change subs location?

Hi, is there s way to edit the saved game files so your sub ends up at a different spot than it was in before? Like if you saved your game in southern japan, but we're out of torps, and sank alot of ships, but didn't feel like the long 2 hour sail home to pearl.

So, to fix this problem, you ended your game, went back to the desktop, tweaked the saved game files to change your subs location, and the next time you loaded the game BOOM ! You we're all the way back home just like that. Can it be done people? I looked at the saved game files there mostly binairy so my guess is Noooo

No, I just took a look and it is not possible.
