SC multiplayer help

Hi!
So after years of dust collecting on my sub command disks, my friend and myself reinstalled. Updated to 1.08. But everytime we try to play multiplayer we cannot see each other's game. We tried it with hamachi and with Gamespy. But it won't connect. We both bypassed our routers and took off any and all firewalls that would be blocking anything.

But after this still did not work.

I have hope someone here knows what is wrong. If I remember right (this being years ago) the last time we had this problem it was a silly and simple fix.

But my brain has fried trying to get this to work,

, so I'm out of ideas.

Any advise to solve this would be awesome!

He's running XP and I'm running Vista, btw guys

That just might be the issue one is XP one is vista not 100% ask xabbarus he is usually good with that sort of knowlege.

UPDATE: I also tried my pc and my laptop on a lan... nothing showed up... running 1.08
