Default Milk Cow Woes

Salutations all!

I've been playing SH3 for about a week now, and was uber-excited when I heard about the Milk Cow Mod. So I downloaded the generic mod enabler, enabled the Milk Cow Mod, then started a mission. Only later I found out that you need to run a mission, return to the command room, THEN enable the mod. So I disabled it, ran a mission, came back, turned it on, then went on another patrol, and there it was the Thalia sitting off the coast of Spain ready to give me torpedoes. But alas it will not give me said siver fish, it is only acting as an obstacle for me to maneuver around in the rough seas. I thought all I had to do was get close then hit escape and dock correct? Am I being obtuse and missing the obvious?

Milk cows don't have torpedoes. They carry fuel and supplies (you only need fuel), but thats it. If you want torpedoes, you have to dock at a supply ship.

Oh yeah, welcome to Subsim!

aw, in the download description it says they did give me torpedoes

Quote:
It adds historical vessels for the refuel and torpedo resupply in campaign. It simulates from the naval bases configurations what used to be milk-cows. So you'll see in the game map how these units move in the areas where historically resupplies took place. You just have to approach them as if they were your base and then press ESC.
any more info on this "supply ship" you speak of?

Thanks for the welcome

lol doh, turns out you can get torps and whatnot from them. I was expecting to see a new tab to select under the ESC button, instead I hit exit patrol THEN you get to click "Dock to Thalia" and tada. Sorry for being thick everyone

Milk cows are big, fat, U-boats floating in the middle of the ocean. I don't think you can get torpedoes from them. Supply ships are located in various harbours, and have actual ship names (not U-764 etc.)

As BBW mentioned before Milk Cows can resuply you with fresh "fishes". I tried it many times and it works. Just check your weapon management screen after docking at MC. (Remember: during docking at MC you have no possibility to change torpedoes loadout. MC will resuply you only with combination of torpedoes scrpited in Basig cfg. file according to a specific year (game time).

Axel, I really recomend downloading GWX. MC's are included.

By the way, best wishes and happy New Year mates
