Every time I try to install GWX3 I get the setup tab at the bottom but nothing happens. I downloaded all the files 3 different times, thinking I may have messed it up. The last time they were downloaded using the torrent. I have them all in my fresh SH3 folder that has been updated to 1.4. I click on the GWX3 setup. A tab on the bottom shows the setup is "running" but nothing is going on. If i ctrl+alt+del and bring up the task manager I see GWX.exe and GWX.tmp "running". At first I thought maybe I didnt give them enough time but this last time I let them run for 8hrs and nothing happened.
I have plenty of HD space and gwx2.0 works perfect in another installation. Also another installation with just SH3 1.4 vanilla runs great as well Just wondering if anyone has come across this or if they know of a way to fix it. Or can help me wher I may have screwed up. Please help!! PS it is windows XP SP3 |

Do you have the 7 zip files beside the exe file? If not then your missing files.
IF you downloaded the DVD version one large exe files maybe its corrupted? |

emaluzer I don't know what to say...
![]() The only long shot idea is and I'm most likely wrong is your user level isn't admin? I know your using XP but Admin's can block programs from installing.... |

The user level is correct, im the only user and I know it is admin. Just for kicks I installed gwx2.0 into another new install and it worked perfectly. It is just this gwx3 that is not working. Also my file version for GWX3.exe is 0.0.0.0? Is this correct?
Maybe I will download the single file installer. Unless there is something i am missing. Do I have to completely uninstall GWX2 from my other installs? that doesnt seem to make sense. Thanks for the suggestions Signed Frustrated |

Hi emaluzer,
Maybe it will help if you download the single-file .EXE version hosted at BtS. (Link can be found on the GWX 3.0 release thread... one file to DL instead of eight.) Hang in there. Last edited by Kpt. Lehmann; 12-29-08 at 09:53 PM. |
