Missing officer: Is this a GWX bug?

I am in March 1945 and got XXI about two patrols ago. I was about to start another patrol and when it loaded I am missing one of the officers. In the "barracks screen" it says Officers 6/6 but only 5 icons of them are showing. Anybody experienced this before?

one of the oldest stock issues in the book. GWX didnt do it.

What generally happens is... a player will place an officer into damage control, and then return to port, forgetting that the officer is still in damage control.

this results in the officer not showing up in the barracks screen, but still being accounted for.

just search the forum for "missing officer" and you will turn up quite a lot im sure

i never had the problem... but i dont know if there is a fix or not.

Thanks for the reply. Honestly I have never played stock SHIII so I have never done any research on "stock bugs". But I think you are dead on: I took quite a beating on my last patrol and definitely had the officer in question on the Damage control team.
I forgot to bring him back into crew quarters. Bummer. Well the war is gonna be over in couple months so I think I will manage without him.

Is there a fix for this problem? Anyone?

the only known fix of which i am aware is to use SH3 commander, go to the crew management screen, and dismiss the missing officer and then, start SH3 and hire a new one.

sorry, but im afraid he is lost into the twilight zone forever
