Default Battlestations Pacific: warroom diaries part 1

Gamespot has a great new trailer for the forthcoming action/strategy hybrid Battlestations Pacific.

I hate videos of devs just talking about their game, but at least this one actually has some snips of gameplay and it looks good. It's good to see that they're putting more effort into the single player, since the first game's SP was non-existent. Maybe someday, they'll even be brave enough to have a "realism" setting or some such. First hell will need to freeze over and the broken hull-corpse of Zombie Yamato will rise from the oceans and demand the blood of Nimitz.

I liked Battlestations: Midway very much, but I doubt realism would work on it. The game is rather arcadey...

I mean, the ships have set damage points!!!

I certainly don't look on it as an accurate naval sim but, it's still a fun game, more a spiritual successor to games like the massive 80's classic hit "Carrier Command".

Funnily enough Carrier Command was actually designed originally as a ww2 naval game but the devs decided eventually on a futuristic approach as the hardware of the day Spectrum/C64/Amiga etc could not portray historical units accurately enough in 3D. Making futuristic craft freed them from this limitation. Smart thinking.

I think somewhere, they announced that there would be a mission editor-esque thing
