I am playing stock silent hunter 4 (with some small mods) when i recieve a contact report of a convoy/taskforce/lone ship I immeadiately have to stop the time compression to zero if the contact is close enough in order to change course and intercept would like to know if there is a way of changing this so that the time compression immediatly jumps to zero when a contact report shows up on the map so i can change course and intercept immeadiatly upon recieveing the Map contact.
I've been playing like this since i bought the game a few weeks back meaning i have to be quick on stopping the time compression when a contact appears, there doesn't seem to be an option in the main cfg file in my documents/sh4 for changing the TC for map contacts the closest i can find is radio report and that doesn't seem to change it, im assuming radio report is the radio messages from comsubpac not map contacts Is there a mod that can change the TC to 1 or something low when you recieve map contacts P.S i have checked the forums for other queries about this but i couldn't find any sorry if this question has already been answered

Yeah, there's something out there about changing your config files to accomodate this (I can't remember where), but, I have to ask this: why would you want to?
If you're using TC and notice a new convoy target anywhere near an intercept range, you'll have plenty of time to slow it down and plot your course. You're talking pretty good ranges here. Heck, just hit backspace or change stations and you're back at regular time. I know for myself that I'd be going nuts if my TC went back to 1 everytime a new map contact came up, because it happens constantly, especially in stock. Yeah your right actually I guess theres no point just a thought. I wasn't sure how much of a difference it makes to stop the TC a little later when you get a contact.

Just in case you missed something stated above, "backspace" will instantly set TC to X 1. A very valuble key !

If you know how to modify configuration files, you can change any of the following:
[TIME COMPRESSION] TimeStop=0 RealTime=1 LandProximity=4 CriticalDamage=1 CrewEfficiency=128;1 AirEnemyDetected=1 SoundEffects=2 CharacterAnim=4 EnemyDetected=8 RadioReport=8 Particles=8 PrayState=8 HunterState=32 3DRender=32 Maximum=8192 The file you want is found in your "Documents and Settings" folder: \My Documents\SH4\data\cfg\main.cfg ... the two types of contact you usually get are "AirEnemyDetected" and "EnemyDetected" ... both types are called out to you verbally. |
