Really Dumb Question!!!!!!!!

Here goes... If you choose manual targeting and don't do all the calculating etc and just sight thru the periscope will the torpedo go where you aim it with the cross hairs???

No. If you want to shoot at what's under your periscope wire, make sure the TDC is off, make sure that the Target Speed dial is set to 0, then switch to the Target Range tool and drag the little triangle down as far as it will go and send the range to the TDC. Keep in mind that this will shoot torpedoes in a straight line at whatever bearing you're pointing at; the fish will not adjust to a moving target. I find this useful for shooting at stationary targets.
