Default GWX help

Hello, so I just recently installed the GWX mod for SH3 every thing seems to work fine, but just as the mission is loading up it freezes up at around the 90% mark and the game becomes non-responsive.

I bought SH3 off of Steam if that means anything.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

-Alex

Did you do a clean install of SH3+patch 1.4b before installing GWX? If not this may be your problem, also any saved games from vanilla SH3 will not be compatible

I assume you have used GWX for the first time.
If so it happens to me too, the red bar has been loaded too fast and then stop for a while. I use to wait 3 or 4 minutes before i get into the game.
Depends on your machine, if it's a fast cimputer, it should have no problem.

Ya I thought it was that and waited for a while, but its simply that the game crashes. Windows task manger lists it as 'Not responding'.

Don't be disheartened just yet, alt-tabbing from the game during the load bar is a sure way to kill it, I have a humongous quad core PC and with every first install I have to wait 2 or 3 minutes after the red bar has filled up for the game to start, at some point you will get the "not so long ago" screen and it will start, if it DOES crash it will do so at that point, you could also try and check the museum first, this will also take a long time to load but give you an indication of the load-times you can expect for the game

if this also locks up or crashes, your installation is probably borked... I can't help you with the steam bit, I simply don't know, but some other GWX team member might

Thanks very much KeptinCranky, I've already uninstalled everything and I am in the process of reinstalling, but if the problem persists I will take your advice and be more patient.
