Type IIA Internal Arrangement?

Not sure if this should go here or in GENERAL Section but........

Im wondering if ther are any good internal photos of a Type II showing the command room, Captain's bunks, torpedo room....etc etc.

I have a good grasp on what a VII and IX look like on the indide, but am wondering aobut the cramped 'canoe' arrangment.

In particular Im wondring about how SH3 portrays the CAptains bunk. Int eh few blueprints I have found I dont see any room for a CAptains bunk to begin with!

The same goes for the sonar and radio shack.....no room for seperate compartments that I can see.

It seems like the entire crew beds down in the Torpedo room...Officers and crew included.

Any word on this?

Any musuem shipos out ther that people have been able to walk through?

Is the SH3 depiction just fictional?

Photos or even written descriptions would be great.

The only surviving Type II is the 'Vesikko' in Finland.

I appreciate the shots, but I cant seem to jive some of the photos and diagrams with some parts of the sh3 version.

First of all the phots of the engine room clearly show that there is nothign between the control room and the diesels.

No radio shack...no sonar room.

Just diesels...hatch..persiscope.

The diagrams seem to echo this.

Unfortunately there seems to be a cash register exactly where one would presume the Captains bunk to be so this isnt clearly shown, and also it isnt clear if the control room leads directly to the forward torpedo room...or if there is some space between them. It isnt clear is the cash register is in the torpedo room or not.

Im mostly just wondering because it adds to the mystery to be able to picture exactly where I am when Im cruisng around in my little U-8.

Anybody from Finnland want to go take some better pictures? Not so many close ups, but some good long shots to show the realation of one room to the next?
