SH4 - Voice Alerts about sightings

Even though I own the game for quite a while, I just started some games.

One thing that already drives me nuts is the following situation:

I am travelling in map mode (F3) @ a time compression of 64. A new Radio Message pops in, but it is only visible on the small info screen. Typically I do not see it, so I continue to blast away @64x without even noticing that there was a new announcement.

What I would like to have is if a new contact / message / whatever comes in, the game should automatically drop to from 64x to 1x (i.e. real time) and a crew member should clearly announce by voice "Contact! Bearing 234. Long Range"

Is it possible to configure the game like that?

Those are probably just generic FOX SKED messages for information purposes - atmosphere.

Even the stock un-modded game will drop down from 256x, 64x etc if a real contact is there. Try departing Pearl at 64x or 128x and you'll see.

Happy Hunting!

I guess the mods change that... I get dropped to 1x at every piece of radio traffic.

When a ship is spotted either on radar or visual I get dropped to 8x. :hmm:
